The Leaning House Tour introduces the history of one of Tartu’s best-known buildings, the Leaning House, and the area surrounding it. During the tour, visitors learn why the Leaning House is leaning, what the building’s history is, and how its surroundings have changed over time.
The tour starts at the Tartu Art Museum (Raekoja plats 18, Tartu). During the tour, participants walk around Town Hall Square and along Magistri, Gildi and Kompanii streets, also paying attention to the history of other sites near the Leaning House. It is also possible to combine part of the tour with a visit inside the museum building.
The guided tour costs €40 when booked in Estonian and €50 when booked in English. In addition, each participant must purchase a Leaning House Tour ticket: €4 for a regular ticket and €2 for a discounted ticket. If you would like to visit the museum’s interior and exhibitions during the tour, an exhibition ticket must be purchased instead of the Leaning House Tour ticket. Exhibition tickets cost €8 for a regular ticket and €6 for a discounted ticket. The exhibition ticket includes access to all exhibitions open at the museum before or after the tour.
More information about prices and discounts can be found on the ticket information page.
