[‘mobil] Gallery 30

17.10.2026–31.01.2027

The year 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the [‘mobil] Gallery’s programmatic exhibition OUT’96. On 17 October the Tartu Art Museum will open an exhibition dedicated to this occasion.

The short-lived (1995–1997) but highly active group was composed of young art students who gathered around Peeter Linnap in his Photography Center at the Estonian Academy of Arts, which Linnap called the Faculty of Taste. The central themes in the group’s artistic output were conceptuality, installations, photography as a medium, found objects, texts, history and deconstruction. [‘mobil] was a jumping off point for several artist who have since proven themselves on the Estonian contemporary art scene. The exhibition will bring together works from both the group’s heyday and contemporary works from former members of the gallery.
